Dammed If You Don't—winner of the 2021 Banff Mountain Fiction & Poetry Award—is a fictional story of a deeply-conflicted photographer who tries to save a remote valley in Patagonian Chile by showing the world how beautiful it is. In spite of his efforts, he inadvertently puts Lahuenco in peril—including a rare and mysterious salamander whose sudden appearance there forces the scientific community to rethink its understanding of evolutionary biology, and possibly human history itself.

This beautiful hardbound book was published in 2021 as a limited edition of 2000 copies. The story was illustrated by the immensely talented Craig Muderlak, and edited and revised by the likes of Craig Childs, Kelly Cordes, Matt Samet, and Bernadette McDonald.
